Report on the Summer Solstice Walk….

The 2014 Summer Solstice Walk was held on 19th June and took the form of a gentle stroll around Pugney’s Country Park. This was followed by supper.
Seventeen people would rather walk around Pugney’s on our Annual Walk than watch England’s football team play Uruguay in Brazil on the television ! (Well done you outdoor types ! )
Was it just bad luck that the walk was booked last September or do we blame FIFA for being inconsiderate ?

Anyway the numbers were down slightly but we were blessed with fine weather and it’s just nice to relax, stroll and chat to your friends and fellow members.
A photo competition (back by popular demand) with the theme of “Action” was held during the walk with a prize for the winner. I was the lucky recipient of First Prize and Ian Scholes was Runner Up. The photographs are to be found below …
Everyone enjoyed the fish & chips supper which started at 8.30pm. at the ‘Wetherby Whaler’ before retiring for the night.
