THE LEEDS ASSOCIATION OF ENGINEERS
Minutes of the Council Meeting held on Thursday 2nd February 2017 at
The Cornerhouse Club Leeds.
1. Attendance: B. Yates, President in the Chair, J. Aldersley, M. Murray, S. Stacey, J. Bentley, A. Rogers, I. Scholes & J. Shergill.
2. Apologies: K. Hegarty, G. Toulson, A. Kibler, H. Kingswell & I. Blakeley
3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting dated 5th January 2017 were approved and signed.
4. Matters Arising: None.
5. Treasurer’s Report: Mr. Bentley reported the following transactions. Postage cost 95p. No other transactions this month, therefore all sums as previous month less 95p in current cash in hand.
6. Correspondence: Mr. Murray had received a letter of resignation from Mr. Rhodes together with a cheque for his outstanding subscriptions.
7. Membership: Nothing to report.
8. Current Programme: Mr. Yates reported that Toyota declined to offer a works visit as they are only offering tours to people with local post codes. Nissan were approached, but due to a present model change/development programme they also declined our request for a visit. It was suggested that Caterpillar and Allied Glass should be contacted for our ‘Summer Special‘ away day.
9. Next Session: Nothing to report.
10. Website: This is now running well, so nothing to report.
11. Golf: All as last minutes. Gerry Allen to be presented with a ‘thank you gift’ to reward him for his efforts, and to celebrate his retirement.
12. Annual Dinner: As Andrew Kibler was unable to attend, he emailed the council members with a request that they sent him a list of their favourite music tracks so he can compile a CD to play as background music during the dinner. Will members be sure to do this please?
Any other business: There being no further business Mr. Yates closed the meeting and thanked the participants for their attendance.
