Minutes of the Council Meeting held at 7:15pm on Thursday 7th February 2019 at the Cornerhouse Club Leeds
1. Attendance. J. Aldersley President in the chair with M. Murray, H. Kingswell, A. Kibler, G. Roper & I. Scholes
2. Apologies for Absence. R. Town, I. Blakeley, J. Bentley, K. Hegarty, J. Shergill, A. Rogers, S. Stacey, G. Toulson & J. Burton.
3. Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Minutes dated 3rd January 2019 were approved and signed.
4. Matters Arising. None.
5. Treasurers Report. November lecture paid and subscriptions collected.
6. Correspondence. The chairman of the Hull association has asked for representation from the LAE at the annual dinner on the 1st March 2019,
A. Kibler was considering attending.
Francis Atkinson is recovering well following a spell in hospital.
M. Murray had an offer of services for a Blog on our website, offer dismissed.
7. Membership. Jennifer Burton’s membership form had been received.
8. Annual Church Service. I. Scholes had been in contact and confirmed the annual church service will be on the 12th May 2019 with Revd. Canon Sam Corley.
9. Current Programme. Next lecture 28th February – British Steel’s Private Railway.
Summer Solstice Walk, possible walk and quiz with Keighley Association of Engineers. J. Aldersley will contact Keighley to find suitable dates.
Next Session – Visit to Drakes Extrusion following the visit to IFG in Drighlington.
Halifax Industrial Museum.
G. Roper has a contact to talk on anaesthesia.
Possibility of another talk by Antony Pilling ?
10. Website. Mr. Toulson keeps performing updates.
11. YouTube. Mr. Kingswell had sent a video to J. Aldersley to arrange an upload to YouTube.
12. Golf. Mr. Stacey has arranged to take Alan Braime for a round of golf on the 2nd July 2019.
13. Annual Dinner. Mr. Kibler stated the menu will be similar to last year and hopefully will be able to hold the same price. The kitchen refurbishment had delayed the final menu.
14. Any Other Business. Having no other business Mr. Aldersley closed the meeting.
