8. Current Programme. We were told that we have only one event booked for this session and that is not while the 31st October (chap from Railway in Darlington). We desperately need something for September and ideally, we need to get something in place for November. Mr Aldersley said he has someone at work (SKF Bearings) who is prepared to give us a talk on bearings, this was planned for later in the year but he will try and persuade him to bring it forward to the 26th September or failing that the 28th November. Mr. Rogers will ask Mr. Yates (former president) if he can help us out with a lecture. It was suggested that we approach Ian McKay (gent who gave us talk on explosives) as we think he might have another subject he can talk to us about. Mr. Town said he will continue to pursue UTC (University Technical College) for a possible visit. He said he also has a lead on someone who is trying to break a land speed record on a steam powered motor cycle, he feels we might be able to get a lecture. Mr. Toulson is trying to get us a visit to a paper mill in Poole in Wharfedale.

9. Next Session. Nothing to report.

10. Website. Mr. Toulson has put the golf report on the website today. He said he would like to refresh the website, but it will be a few weeks before he has sufficient time to do so.

11. You Tube Video. Mr Aldersley reported that we are now on you tube, his friend Tom has uploaded the footage that Mr Kingswell prepared.

12. Golf. Mr Stacey gave a report on the 2019 Leeds Association Golf Tournament that was held on the 2nd July at Cobble Hall (Leeds). He reported that he has once again managed to collect excellent sponsorship from Braime, M.A. Ford, Burgess & Co, Craftsman Tools, Mitchell Fox Kenmetal, Leeds GC and HKA Financial Services. This provided prizes of £60, £50 and £40 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and also prizes for nearest the pin on all five of the ‘par 3’ holes. Also there was enough money to supply prizes, mainly wine and golf balls to all 39 players. There were 30 players (10 teams of 3) for the M A Ford team event for the morning with the winners receiving a bottle of champagne + golf balls, the 2nd team also won golf balls. Thirty nine players (the maximum possible) played in the afternoon individual event for the Braime + M A Ford prizes and the Association silverware for members. There was a new winner of the Braime Trophy, this was David Ward MD of M A Ford. It was the 81st event for the Braime trophy, entrants this year included Alan Braime, the great grandson of the trophy donor. Gerry Allen was not available to help on the day as he had been booked on a surprise trip to Scandinavia for his 70th birthday. John Bennet (Mr. Stacey’s friend) helped with meet and greet etc. The weather, golf course and food were all excellent and many of the players expressed how much they had enjoyed the day. Mr. Stacey said he is hopeful of maintaining the same price next year of £56 for the day and is looking at the possibility of having the tournament at Scarcroft Golf Club.

13. Annual Dinner. Was not discussed.

Any other Business. Having no other business Mr. Aldersley closed the meeting.
