Minutes of the Council Meeting held at 7.30pm on Thursday 8th Mar 2018 at The Cornerhouse Club.
1. Attendance. J. Aldersley, A. Rogers, J. Bentley, R. Town and A. Kibler
2. Apologies for absence. G. Toulson, I. Blakeley, I. Scholes, M. Murray, H. Kingswell, J. Shergill, S. Stacey
3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting, dated 1st Feb 2018 were approved by JA
4. Matters Arising. None at this moment in time.
5. Treasurers Report.
£24.10 was paid in cash to John Bentley for taking our guest speaker to dinner.
£45.00 was received from S. Gledhill for subs arrears.
£30 subs was also received.
Current bank account shown but not recorded.
AK to mail Jas again regards checking the accounts for last period before AGM.
6. Correspondence. JA contacted Verginetta with regard to a possible visit but unfortunately they declined. However, JA did talk to Dick Craven, a bike enthusiast, and it looks promising for either a talk or visit. JA to follow up.
7. Membership. Nothing to report.
8. Current Programme. is full
9. Next Session. JA contacted Drake Ltd regards a visit and they said yes, so JA will arrange. JA also said he would contact Aprii as they promised to give us some possible contacts.
10. Student Award Scheme. JA will follow up with Aprii
11. Website. Nothing to report.
12. Golf. Steve has been in touch with Gerry Allen who is more than willing to help with contacts and possible sponsors.
13. Annual Dinner. AK discussed good early feedback. Barrie suggested a possible speaker but as recorded previously, it was once again rejected by those attending.
14. Any other Business. The possibility of returning to the University for some lectures was discussed but it was felt that this would be unlikely in the current climate. However, it was not ruled out completely.
