The Solstice Walk is just a bit of fun to keep up our contacts during the summer, to drink some beer, and to get to know each other’s wives and sweethearts.

Members and their guests are invited to join the Solstice Walk in Roundhay Park to be followed by refreshments and meal in a local hostelry.  (We are currently arranging it to be at ‘The White House’.)

Meet in the Car Park on Princes Avenue opposite the Gardens at 7.00 p.m. For the oldies amongst you, it’s where the trams used to turn around !  Please note we need to book the suppers in advance and so you are requested to advise the Programme Secretary by no later than Monday 25th June, when booking will close.  (A return slip was on the back of your last newsletter.)  Please contact, advising the number for supper and advise a contact telephone number:

We are again holding a competition for the best photograph taken on the walk.  Bring your cameras along and get snapping !  The best photograph will appear on the website.

Following the excellent lecture about Boomerangs at the start of this session we are holding a ‘homemade’ Boomerang Throwing Competition during the walk in Roundhay Park, Leeds.  Don’t miss it !  Have you been whittling your lumps of plywood away over the last few months ?  Not long to go now, so get that surform and sandpaper cracking !!!
