Session Opener….

A talk by Professor Philip Purnell, from the University of Leeds, on innovative applications and cutting edge research in concrete.  It is still one of engineering’s most useful structural materials, even if it has been around since Roman times.  As this is the first event of the programme, we hope you will attend.

It is the custom, for those who wish, to repair after the lecture to a local hostelry to continue socialising and have a refreshment.

This will be the second year that we have used the Cleckheaton venue for lectures and so far it has proved popular with members.
