Extra Visit – to Ellenroad Mill, Rochdale….
Council Member Barrie Yates suggested a weekend visit to see the world’s largest steam mill engines operating… Here are his comments….
“As I said at the last council meeting I am going to see the World’s Largest working steam engines at Ellenroad, Rochdale.
ELLENROAD ENGINE HOUSE Elizabeth Way, Newhey, Rochdale OL16 4LE Sunday 6th March . Opening times 11am until 4pm Entry £5 (children under 16 – Free!)
Hopefully a few members will join me. Every time I visit I am always amazed at the machinery which includes two beam engines. They serve drinks and cakes as well! So what’s not to like!
Looks as if things are starting to move at last. And I hope to see you soon.”
