LAE member Neil Cobbold will give us a talk this evening entitled:-

“One Man’s Path Through Life”

Neil had previously kindly arranged a visit to the ‘Whistlestop Valley Railway’ where he is an active member and locomotive driver. He also arranged the excellent visit to Sherburn Airfield, where as an accomplished pilot, he flies light aircraft. A man of many hobbies and interests….

Neil sent a few notes and photos about his talk. Here are his words and photos:-

“The theme of the talk will follow my life’s journey based on my working life, with additional wanderings into my leisure activities and hobbies, and what I’m up to nowadays in my retirement. The picture with the diesel loco, incidentally a Hunslet product, was from my time in Sri Lanka, the Phantom FGR 1, which was fully armed and ready for immediate launch, was in the Falklands, and the third was my two lads in front of a dump truck that we had rebuilt after an accident, again in Sri Lanka, on the Victoria Dam hydro electric project on the Mahawelli river….”

Come along and hear Neil who will no doubt entertain us with stories from his many experiences…

As usual we will retire to a local hostelry for refreshments and further socialising.
