ENGINES FOR ENGINEERS

Thursday 19th September 20247.15 pm– Venue: Morley Central Methodist Church Hall

(Please note the date of this lecture as it is not the usual ‘last Thursday of the month’.)

The events session 2025-2025 begins with a lecture from Barrie Yates. The president and council welcome members and guests to join us and support Barrie who has kindly agreed to open the session with a talk on a subject of interest to all….

Here is Barrie’s precis of his lecture:-

“We will look briefly at the history of the internal combustion engine, and at the hugely diverse designs that have been developed.  We are told that we will see the demise of our old and trusted friend, and that we will drive only electric or alternative fuelled cars in the future. Perhaps this is not so?  The use of small, novel and ingenious engines have a future a range extenders for electric cars. I have spent many hours looking at some of these , and look forward to sharing them with you, and  I look forward to seeing you all .”

Come along and meet up with fellow members and friends and enjoy an interesting and informative talk. As is the custom after the lecture we will retire to a local hostelry for refreshments and further socialising…

See you there !
