Tracing an old Leeds Watchmaker…..
Dear Members,
I received an email via our website from a gentleman by the name of John Mortimer who is trying to trace a watchmaker from Leeds called Middleton. Mr. Mortimer has a Ladies fine silver fob watch which belonged to his grandmother circa. 1900. On the accompanying key is the inscription ‘T. Middleton. Leeds. 1840’. Middleton could have been a jeweller but the fact it had his name on the winder key suggests a watchmaker.
It’s a tall order but any help or advice for Mr. Mortimer in tracing further information would be much appreciated. If you can help then please contact me through the ‘Contact Website Editor’ link in the menu above and I will pass on any details.
