News from World Skills Competition….
John Aldersley sent us the latest update on Cameron’s progress:-
” Cameron is preparing for the next stage in pursuit of winning in the World Skills competition by using the Haas 5 axis at Leeds City College. (Haas Website) He had an idea of doing some tuition to various people, starting with the college tutors. He has, through ‘MA Ford’, used back ends and tooling and ‘Lang’ have offered him a vice.
He is looking for further sponsorship, so hopefully he can get through the college to help, he has a few irons in the fire.
He said he had made a cake for his 21st yesterday. It is in aluminium. (See in the cabinet on the bottom shelf !) He said he was looking for a company to supply cutting fluid. Funnily enough I have just got back in touch with Millers Oils, with a day time visit for our April event. (Watch this space !) You never know they may be willing to help with cutting fluids.
The glass cabinet in the photos was in the foyer at college. It was full of junk made by the students and rather than being shiny well-made parts it was a load of rusty junk, which said a lot…. Cameron says it is now shiny junk instead ! ”
