We are sorry to hear of the passing of Ernest Preston on Friday 28th January 2011. Ernest was a long standing member and council member of the association and joined in 1967, being President from 1980 to 1982. The AGM was held in the board room of Marshalls Ltd., who very kindly provided the facilities and refreshments. The seating was probably a little too comfortable for an A.G.M, but those who slept did so quietly. Our President John McClarty presided over the meeting. Dennis Whitfield Died 8th June 2010 Member of the Leeds Association of Engineers since 30th October 1980 Dennis was born and raised in Baildon and lived in the same house for most of his life. In the evening of 27th May 2010 a narrowboat trip on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal was organised which also included a visit to Granary Wharfe.
