On Saturday 8th April 2017 we celebrated with the 151st Anniversary Dinner held at Headingley Golf Club at Adel in Leeds.
Following the grand 150th celebration in the previous year it was decided to change the format to have a slightly less formal dinner. It was decided after canvassing members and guests that more time for socialising was preferred with less speeches.
Our president Barrie Yates presided and after delivering a short but entertaining speech he presented Alan Braime with the Braime Rose Bowl Trophy. Alan won the trophy at the 2016 Golf Tournament for the best score in an individual Stableford at Scarcroft Golf Course. Alan’s great-grandfather had presented the trophy to the association.
As before the meal and service were excellent and after the president made the presentation he thanked the members and their guests and expressed the hope that we will meet again for the 2018 dinner.
