On the 6th April 2019 we held the 153rd Anniversary Dinner at Headingley Golf Club. For your diaries we have already pencilled in Saturday 4th April 2020 for the 154th Anniversary Dinner and we hope that members and their guests will be able to join us. Further information will be made available closer to the event in the New Year. Until then here below are some photographic memories of the 2019 dinner, courtesy of council member Ian Scholes….
Dinner Secretary Andrew Kibler presided and introduced president John Aldersley who after delivering a short but very entertaining speech presented Jaswinder S. Shergill J.P. with the Braime Rose Bowl Trophy. ‘Jas’ won the trophy at the 2018 Golf Tournament for the best score in an individual Stableford at Garforth Golf Club on 6th July 2018 when it was the 80th running of the Braime Trophy competition.
Andrew introduced a new item this year… a quiz ! Each table of guests had to identify from several pictures either famous people or buildings from Leeds or the surroundings. It certainly caused a buzz amongst the guests who were quite competitive ! First prize for the winning table was a large basket of fruit and Easter Eggs…. It was a very popular part of the evening !
As before, the meal and service were excellent and after the president had made the presentation he thanked the members and their guests for attending and expressed the hope that we will all meet again for the 2020 dinner.
