The President and Council warmly welcome members to join us for the forthcoming session of events. It has been a difficult few months for us all and we have endeavoured to keep up interest with a couple of excellent online lectures from Frank Smith and Barrie Yates.
The online ‘Zoom‘ meetings got off to a slightly wobbly start (!) as we got to grips with the virtual format but we are pleased to advise that face-to-face meetings are once again possible. As the pandemic continues we will take steps to ensure everyone’s health and safety at our gatherings.
We kick off the new session with a visit to ‘Whistlestop Railway’ (click these links for more information) followed by lectures on R.H. Greaves by Bill Jagger and Railway Signalling by Bruce MacDougall. Lectures in the New Year are being planned.
There is a new, more central, lecture meeting venue in Morley with ample parking and a nearby selection of hostelries for refreshments following the meetings. See here for full details… Morley Lecture Hall.
We look forward to seeing you at some or all of the events in the next few months. As more events are booked in the New Year they will appear here on the website and in the newsletters, so please check online occasionally. In the pipeline are lectures on Anaesthesia and Electric Cars. We are planning to hold our Annual Dinner in April and the 2022 Golf Tournament is provisionally booked for the end of June.
Articles for the website which may be of interest to members are most welcome and you can forward these to be published by using this link:- ‘Contact Website Editor’ Any suggestions from members for visits or lectures would also be most welcome. Please contact the website editor or any council member with details. We hope you enjoy the forthcoming events, and we thank you for your continuing support.
Best wishes to all from the President and Council.
