Can anyone help ???
A friend of mine who is a professional architect practising in Kuala Lumpur has asked me if it is possible to find out something relating to UK building rules and regulations. They have been asked by a client to produce a design for an aircraft hangar to house executive jet aircraft at a small airport in a UK location. They are experienced specialists in structural work and would like to be able to offer a quotation to the client.
The question is “Is it possible for a Professional Engineer in the UK to ‘sign off’ architectural drawings and plans without the need to involve a separate UK company of architects?”
I have already contacted the Institution of Civil Engineers in London and am awaiting a reply but if any Leeds Association members can answer the question or perhaps put me in contact with an appropriate expert in the matter I would be most appreciative of any help.
