I have recently been contacted by John Suter who is the Meetings Secretary of the Newcomen Society, South Yorkshire Branch. Here is the email from John:-
Dear Gordon,
I hope you don’t mind me writing to you about the Newcomen Society, but I have been given your name by, Bill Jagger who felt that some of your members could be interested in our programme of meetings.
As you may be aware the Newcomen Society is the world’s foremost group for the history of engineering and technology, and over the years the Society has established close links to all the major professional engineering bodies. Early this year a group of us came together to form a new branch of the Society to cover the Yorkshire / Lincolnshire / Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire region and I would be pleased if you could forward the following programme of talks through to April 2017, to any of your members who may be interested in coming to the meetings. I would stress that all Newcomen meetings are free and open to all.
Also if any of your members would like to be added to our email distribution list if they drop me an email I would be pleased to add their names.
