A lesson on Renewable Energy…..
Barrie Yates has forwarded a link to a short lecture on renewable energy which members might find interesting. Over six years ago the late David MacKay, or to give him his full title, Sir David John Cameron MacKay FRS FInstP FICE, gave a ‘TED.Ed.Warwick’ lecture with some surprising statistics, clearly illustrated and explained. He doesn’t preach nor does he chastise us for our energy consumption but simply states the current situation (as it was then) and offers some ideas for the future. In the past six years there has been a leap forward in the production of energy by renewable means in the UK but as you will discover here it is nowhere near what is, and will be required in the future.
