This section has been created as a vehicle for keeping our members informed of association news and by reporting current events etc. related to the wide spectrum of engineering. Contributions by members will always be welcome, but no politics or religion please.
You will notice that the website has taken on a new look. The previous publishing system was becoming expensive and difficult to maintain and so it was decided to transfer to this new system. In the papers of the late Bill Shelton we discovered a photograph, believed to be an extract from a journal of that time, showing members and guests from kindred associations. Bob Bray (LAE member) of Sinclair Harding, clockmakers, gave the opening lecture for the Ladies’ Evening in September 2010 when he told us about the extraordinarily superb clocks they make. James Arthur Tate, 1923- 2011, passed away peacefully at home on 7th October after a short illness. James joined the Association in 1959, giving support over many years, particularly at the Annual Dinners then held at the Metropole Hotel in Leeds, where he could be guaranteed to field a large number of colleagues and guests.
