3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting, dated 6th October 2016 were approved & signed.

4. Matters Arising. None.

5. Treasurers Report. Mr. Bentley reported that in the year up to now expenditure had exceeded income by £1255.83 this was partially explainable by significant sums being spent on one off purchases, for example, the vicars leaving dinner / present. The only transaction / expenditure since September is a payment (cheque) for £191.85 to Headingley Golf Club for room hire and food at the opening council meeting of the season.

6. Correspondence. Nothing to report.

7. Membership. We had no new applications, although Mr Shergill did say he has a potential member and Mr. Aldersley is hopeful of persuading one of his work colleagues (Andrew) to join us.

8. Current Programme. Since the last meeting Mr. Toulson has compiled a list of events / potential events which he has circulated to council. A number of dates and events have been pencilled in some of which are now confirmed. Our next event is a lecture / talk by Bradford Model Engineers who will be visiting our regular Cleckheaton venue and bringing along some of their models to show us, a number of which are scratch built (from plans only). The December event will be a lecture by Tony Jackson on the Pennine Dam and the use of puddle clay. We are planning a visit by the West Yorkshire Lieutenancy in January 2017 and discussed whether this would be suitable for the ladies evening but decided against it, although of course ladies are welcome to attend. Mr. Aldersley has been in touch with the Fire Station at Stanningley who have agreed to allow us to visit them. We hope to arrange this for the 23rd February. Mr. Shergill is investigating a visit to the Sikh Temple in Bradford on the 30th March which could potentially be the ladies evening. Mr. Hegarty has been in contact with Jet2 who say they can accommodate us for a visit but it would have to be during the day. We hope to have a lecture in April on the use of Drones in photographing buildings and landscapes etc, and to follow this with our A.G.M. The final visit of the year we are hoping for is to Drax Power station, this is potentially on the 25th May. Other things to fit in the programme include the Church Service, Annual Dinner and the Golf Day. We discussed approaching Yorkshire Television for a visit along with a number of other possibilities which we will continue to pursue for the next session. Mr. Stacey will try get a list of contacts from Gerry Allen of potential visits / lectures.
Mr. Aldersley has been in contact with Bradford College to discuss the possibility of us giving an award to one of their engineering students and inviting them to our annual dinner but is still waiting for a response. He has also made the same offer to a college in Brighouse to see if they are interested in working with us in promoting engineering to young people.

9. Next Session. See above.

10. Website. Generally the website is up to date, the only change required is to add Mr. Aldersleys new role of Vice President. Mr Aldersley asked if the association should have a facebook page, council agreed that this might be a more appropriate way of connecting with younger engineers, Mr. Toulson agreed to set one up.

11. Journal. The journal is now published Mr. Bentley gave out the first copies to council members. Mr. Aldersley said we should all give Mr. Bentley a vote of thanks for all the effort he put in getting the journal ready for publishing.

12. Golf. Mr Stacey reported that he has negotiated a price of £56 / head for the full day package including golf, food and prizes at Scarcroft Golf Club on the 7th July 2017. Tee off will be at 10.00 am Gerry Allen is continuing in his role at Mitchell Fox so his involvement with the tournament will remain unchanged..

13. Annual Dinner. We only discussed the dinner very briefly because Mr. Rogers said it is too early to start making arrangements before Christmas. We were talking potentially of having the dinner on Saturday 8th April 2017. Mr. Kibler asked Mr. Rogers for contact details of the kindred associations that we normally invite. Mr. Rogers said he will forward the information by email. We should confirm our preferred format for the dinner at the next meeting. Mr. Rogers said he will assist Mr. Kibler in any way he can. Mr. Kibler commented that at the last dinner much of the free wine we put on the tables remained unconsumed probably because most people are driving. He suggested that it might be better that people attending the dinner be given a ticket that they can exchange at the bar for a drink of their choice, that way they can have a soft drink if they wish and we only pay for drinks consumed.

.
Any other Business. Having no other business Mr. Aldersley closed the meeting.
