On the 21st February 2013 the Welders and Joiners Society held a lecture on the “Building of the Shard” given by J. J. Krancioch.

The Shard is the tallest building in Europe and was officially opened to the public on the 1st February 2013.

Johann (John) J. Krancioch was the group Welding and Quality Manager for the Severfield Rowen Construction Group, based in Dalton near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.  Severfield Reeve Structures was the main fabrication and erection company responsible for the 12,500 tonnes of structural steel that made up “The Shard”.
