Martins Golubevs – News of his new employment…..

Martins Golubevs now working at ‘Isembard’

Martins joined the association as a student member and joined the council along with colleagues from Kirkstall Precision Engineering. An opportunity came along and Martins moved to Isembard. Here is his report:-

.

“As some of you may know I have migrated to the South of England for a job opportunity and I have now been working for Isembard for two months and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

I’ll first explain why I decided to go through with this big decision. I was first approached by Alexander Fitzgerald while I was at Kirkstall Precision and the reason why he knew about me was from Worldskills, so he made contact and we started talking about his company, Isembard. This company is very unique as it is using a franchise model to grow the sub-contracting machining business in the same way McDonald’s do with their fast food chains. Instead of having one huge colossal factory to manufacture parts, the approach is to create new factories and convert existing companies to Isembard and have a large number of factories globally with different machines and capabilities. You can imagine how efficient and beneficial this is if you can deliver a whole project to a customer without outsourcing any of the work. I have not heard of any manufacturing company doing the same concept so it instantly captured my attention and it is now swiftly growing higher and higher. The company started in January 2025 and we currently have 6 running factories scattered in Texas US, London, Portsmouth and Exeter. We plan to have 25 by the end of this year.

Now for what I have been personally getting up to is learning new software and new machines. The two machines that we have in London are the Hermle C22U (5-axis Milling machine) and the Doosan SMX 2600S (7-axis Mill-turn), both great machines with high capability. Software wise, I have been learning Hypermill which is a high end CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) meant for programming complex jobs, Vericut which is a simulation software that reads post processed codes and shows if there are any collisions or gouges in the program and also Mason-OS which is new software developed by Isembard from the software engineers which will show all relevant information across all factories similarly to an ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning).

In conclusion, I am still learning and progressing through my time here but it has been rewarding and fulfilling to see how my knowledge and experience is helping this company reach its goals. Still seeing familiar faces around like Cameron Pinder and Ben King who have recently come down to an open house event and showing them around the factory for a tour.”
