Your President has produced a poster in A3 ‘Word’ format. If any members could print and display the poster in a prominent position that would be seen by potential members it would be much appreciated.
The traditional engineering industry has diminished over the last few decades and the huge plants have all but disappeared. However, there are still engineers out there. It’s just that they are no longer only to be found in the large engineering companies that we remember. There are many smaller companies with resident engineers practising. We do not insist that our members are qualified engineers. An interest in the world of engineering is the only qualification that we ask for.
In order to ensure that the Leeds Association of Engineers continues we need to target these ‘hidden’ engineers (or those with an enthusiastic interest in engineering) and encourage them to join us and swell our numbers. If you know of any companies or organisations that would be willing to display this poster please ask for their help.
